GAM was founded in 2003 in Asturias (Spain). Up until 2008, it acquired leading local companies in their areas dedicated to machinery rental. During those first years of intense business activity, a dozen companies were integrated, each with its specific characteristics, which had to be transformed to converge within the corporate culture.

In parallel to this acquisition process, GAM prepared its leap to the stock market, where it debuted in May 2006. It is now the only company in the sector that is listed on the Spanish Stock Exchange.

At the end of 2007, GAM launched its internationalisation project and began to operate in Romania and Bulgaria. Between 2008 and 2013, it made the leap to Latin America and expanded internationally with offices in Mexico, Panama, Peru, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Colombia, Morocco, and the Dominican Republic.

In recent years, international operations have mainly been concentrated in the Iberian Peninsula, Morocco and Latin America. At an operational level, the company has continued to be very active in adding and expanding business lines.
