Over the past year, six editions were held, bringing together key figures from various fields of the economy, social media, sustainability, and business culture. María Neira, César Cernuda, and Antonio Blanco were some of the speakers during its inaugural year.

Among the various projects underway, our Sustainability Plan stands out, which encompasses four major areas, one of them being Social Innovation.
Within this scope, the Charlando en GAM initiative was launched to promote networking in Asturias, to get to know each other, and to discuss and learn about various current topics that affect us both in our professional and personal lives, such as the digital transformation we are experiencing as a society or sustainability with new efficient forms of energy. In short, an open event where key topics for the future are discussed.
The Sustainability Project
One of GAM's major projects is the Sustainability Plan, which aims at the company's progress and its commitment to the environment under three fundamental pillars: people, the environment, and our customers. This project encompasses four major areas of action: social innovation, sustainable energy and mobility, the circular economy, and business transformation, covering all our activities across the board.
The social innovation area includes various initiatives to ensure social well-being, the well-being of our employees, and to promote collaboration among different companies for a common goal, with Charlando en GAM being a key initiative in this area.
Charlando en GAM
Charlando en GAM is one of the initiatives included in our Sustainability Plan, through which we can collaboratively enjoy key figures in the fields of innovation, culture, and sustainability.
The different editions of this initiative in 2021, held in the Innovation Hall of our headquarters in Asturias, concluded on December 23 with a talk by María Neira. Throughout all of them, current topics related to various fields were shared, ranging from business culture to environmental care.
Antonio Blanco, the debut of Charlando en GAM
The first edition of this initiative was inaugurated with the presence of Antonio Blanco, Director of the Fundación Alimerka, who came to our facilities to talk about the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and the fundamental role of companies in achieving social progress and well-being.

César Cernuda, leading digitalization
César Cernuda, President of NetApp and former President of Microsoft LATAM, joined us to discuss the profound digital transformation we are experiencing both in the business and individual spheres. The protection of our data in the virtual world and the obligation of companies to increasingly integrate into this world were key points of this edition, which was held last July.

Omar Suárez, innovation to protect the environment
The CEO of Sunthalpy, who attended our third edition, presented the self-sufficient house located in Oviedo and talked about the technology behind it and his company, which aims to protect the environment while enabling a more economical life.

Eva Pando, Asturias leading the way
Eva Pando, General Director of IDEPA, added a touch of Asturian pride to this initiative, teaching us how to sell and enhance the talent and opportunities that Asturias offers to investors. A paradise that has grown and advanced by leaps and bounds and is ready, both geographically and with its high level of innovation and business fabric, to welcome investors from around the world.

Carlota Fernández, the importance of real food
Carlota Fernández, Dietitian-Nutritionist, better known by her Instagram profile @nutriaconsejame, is also the Community Manager of Realfooding. In this edition of Charlando en GAM, we learned about the importance of real food, both for our health and for preserving the raw materials we have, promoting local and sustainable cooking.

María Neira, a grand finale
María Neira, Director of Public Health and Environment at the WHO, joined us in the last edition of the past year to talk about the importance of taking care of our environment, protecting the planet we live on to guarantee an optimal level of global health and preventing future pandemics. The many diseases we face today are largely due to global warming and the pollution we suffer. The importance of the sustainable revolution is in our hands, to enjoy a healthy planet while staying healthy ourselves.

Hybrid events to reach everyone
These editions of Charlando en GAM were held at our headquarters in Asturias and broadcast live to the public. Throughout all the editions, our social media – especially our profiles on LinkedIn and Instagram – hosted these events, allowing the public to join and watch the stream.
Thanks to GAM Events, it was possible to bring together over 2,000 people from all continents.
