GAM has begun collaborating with the charitable association Cocina Económica de Oviedo, which works to provide healthy and nutritious food to vulnerable groups. The multinational has decided to initiate this collaboration due to the difficult economic situation that many people in our country are facing, caused by inflation and the rise in the cost of the shopping basket - which has increased by around 15% in a year - to join forces and help the residents of Oviedo and surrounding areas.
The Cocina Económica de Oviedo is a long-established charitable association in the city that provides dignified meals to the most vulnerable and those at risk of exclusion, distributing around one ton of food daily (about 25,000 kg per month).
To help expand the resources of the Association, GAM has provided Cocina Económica de Oviedo with a stacker and a pallet truck that will help speed up the food collection processes as well as their transport and storage. Mercedes Malnero, Area Manager of GAM, was responsible for making the delivery at a meeting attended by José García-Inés, President of Cocina Económica de Oviedo.
The multinational has also launched its own food drive in its offices to promote the donation of food and essential products by company employees or anyone who wishes to contribute.
