This project, which the Asturian company developed in record time – four days from the start of work on Saturday, January 29 – highlights the safety and adaptability to the current needs of the center.
It is the first project to feature Kirleo mobile classrooms, the new School of Trades, which, building on the experience of GAM's training area, aims to enhance highly demanded professional skills through innovative tools.
GAM has completed the installation of eight modular classrooms – consisting of 24 modules of 15 square meters each – to accommodate students from 2nd to 5th grade at San Vicente de Paúl School in Gijón, whose roof collapsed on January 5, 2022.
This project, which involved a team of assemblers, a project engineer, and support staff, covers a total area of 340 square meters installed in record time, less than a week from the start of work on Saturday, January 29.
All installed structures are equipped with air conditioning, heat pumps, windows to ensure proper ventilation given the current health situation, and double roofing to minimize noise and protect against weather conditions. They also feature a fully legalized electrical installation, and are designed to be safe for the children who will use them.
According to Rosa Naranjo, Head of the Structures business area at GAM and also Head of the new Kirleo School of Trades, “This project has been particularly challenging due to the working conditions – in an urban area with accessibility limited only through the building's courtyard – and with a clear urgency. Thanks to all the accumulated experience in modular construction and the support of a highly qualified team, we were able to provide an agile and high-quality solution that we adapted to the client's needs with the highest safety standards in the shortest possible time.”
