Television of the Principality of Asturias
On March 15th, Pedro Luis Fernández participated in the TPA news through a live interview, where both GAM and the situation in Asturias regarding the latest business opportunities were discussed.
“Now we need to continue digitalizing, improve environmental commitment aspects, and be part of the economic transformation.”
"2020 was a year to get through, and we have done so. We have worked well, demonstrated resilience, adapted, and cared […] It has been a year of adaptation." With these words, Pedro Luis explained the results achieved in a year marked by the pandemic, which has forced companies to act in a challenging environment of health and economic crisis.
In the interview, he not only referred to the results of this year but also to the path this situation has opened up, which has led the company to reinvent itself. The new disinfection services for our clients, the digitalization plan, the sustainability projects, and the creation of Inquieto, a subsidiary focused on Last Mile mobility, have been some of the key points for industrial and business transformation.
In this context, the president of GAM also mentioned the ongoing “refurbishment” project for machinery, which involves shifting from a linear economy to a circular one to transform the manufacturing process, making it not only economically more efficient but also more environmentally friendly, reducing the waste we generate.
There was also room to talk about Asturias and the latest projects that have come to the Principality. “The news of the opening of Amazon's logistics center is very important, not only for what it is but for what it means […] If Amazon has looked at Asturias, other projects can also be set up here.” In this way, Pedro Luis referred to the opportunities Asturias has that we must not miss.
