Oviedo, July 31, 2024.- GAM, a Spanish multinational listed company (BME: GAM) that offers comprehensive solutions and services for the industry, reaffirms its commitment to corporate social responsibility by sponsoring the upcoming charity dinner in support of the Dravet Foundation. The event, to be held on October 4th at the Real Club Astur de Regatas in collaboration with the Real Sporting de Gijón Veterans Association, aims to raise funds for research and support for those affected by Dravet syndrome, a rare disease that affects children and young adults.

The event will be attended by numerous business leaders, personalities, and collaborators from various public and private institutions and foundations, who support the tireless work of the Dravet Foundation to improve the quality of life for those with this disease, which affects 1 in every 16,000 births—there is only one known case in Asturias—by providing support to both patients and their families through research programs, emotional support, and awareness activities.

Among them is the renowned footballer Álvaro Morata, who has shown his support for the cause by donating a Spanish Men’s National Football Team jersey signed by all the players, which will be raffled during the charity dinner. Additionally, the Institutional Relations Department of the Gijón City Council and prominent business figures such as Gelu Rodríguez, along with GAM’s main sponsorship, have not hesitated to support this noble cause, once again demonstrating the importance of collaboration across different sectors of society.

As a prelude, the President of the Dravet Syndrome Foundation, José Ángel Aibar, will give a talk at GAM’s facilities this Friday, August 2nd. It will be the 25th edition of the #CharlandoenGAM initiative, and he will address the role of companies in promoting social causes and the importance of collaboration between the private sector and non-profit organizations. This initiative reinforces GAM’s commitment to the community and highlights the importance of solidarity and mutual support.

GAM’s President and Founder, Pedro Luis Fernández, advocates for the power of collaboration to create a positive impact. “Supporting the Dravet Syndrome Foundation is a way to contribute to a cause that truly matters. We are honored to participate in this initiative and to make all our resources available to make a significant difference in the lives of those who are fighting against this disease.”
